Education


Education has always been a priority for Friends. Currently, Friends School Mullica Hill (a K-8 facility) is associated with Salem Quarter.

Salem Meeting offers scholarship assistance to members of meeting who are enrolled in Quaker elementary or secondary schools or in any college. Application forms are available for download under the members tab.

Additionally, the John S. Carpenter Scholarship, created as a bequest by John & Mildred Carpenter, is awarded to up to four graduating seniors of Salem High School and/or to members of Salem Meeting. Download the application here:

In addition to formal education, Friends are supportive of workshops, conferences and retreats. Financial assistance to members and attenders who wish to attend a Quaker workshop, lecture, retreat or other such educational or spiritual opportunity is available from Salem Monthly Meeting. Friends must make inquiry and disbursement is made based on available funds. Application forms are available for download under the members tab.
